Dr. Nisha Pandey is Director, Gujarat Institute of Development Research, Ahmadabad. She was the Professor and the Chairperson of the Yunus Centre for Social Business at Vivekanand Education Society Business School in Mumbai. She is also visiting scholar at INTI International University, Malaysia and visiting professor at MIU International University Fairfield, Iowa, USA. Dr. Pandey is Ph.D. in Environment Economics from Harcourt Butler Technological Institute in Kanpur, as well as post-doctoral research experience from IIT Bombay. She has worked in numerous inter-disciplinary research projects at prestigious institutions such as Indian Institute of Technology, Bombay, Management Development Institute, Gurgaon, and Harcourt Butler Technological Institute, Kanpur, and has presented and published over 40 papers at national and international conferences, forums, and journals. She is the author of three books on social entrepreneurship and womens empowerment. She has presented her research papers in numerous countries, including the Academy of Management in the United States, Thailand, Nepal, Sri Lanka and Malaysia. She got funding from the South Asian Network of Development and Environment Economics (SANDEE). Dr. Pandey has completed funded projects from various agencies like MMRD and DST - NIMAT projects, Impactful Policy Research in Social Sciences (IMPRESS) funded by ICSSR as well as Social Impact Assessment Ahmadabad Municipal Corporation funded by World Bank. She is also working in the project funded by MGNCRE, Government of India on the Aspiration District Program for Policy Assessment.
