Madhusudan Bandi is Assistant Professor with the Gujarat Institute of Development Research, Ahmedabad. He obtained his doctoral degree in Development Studies with specialisation in Political Science from the Centre for Economic and Social Studies (affiliated to BR Ambedkar Open University (BRAOU), Hyderabad). He accomplished one-year coursework for his PhD at the School of Development Studies, University of East Anglia, Norwich under the Split-Site Doctoral Scholarship scheme offered by the Commonwealth Scholarship Commission in the United Kingdom. In home country, he was a recipient of the Institutional Doctoral Fellowship of the Indian Council of Social Science Research, New Delhi. He also holds degrees in MPhil and Law. His academic experience is primarily comprised of research. His studies and policy engagement concern issues in the forest rights act; democratic decentralisation; geographical indications; and the development of marginalised communities. He has publications in professional journals and edited volumes besides contributions to national newspapers.
